“Textbook is very difficult as it is very theoretical, yet it requires (students) to be hands-on at the end of the chapter.”
The lack of scaffolding in the textbook got her to creatively map Chumbaka content into the DSKP, allowing her to teach her students in Year 4 & 5 more meaningfully. Using the classic “follow-me” approach, students repeated her steps in learning microcontrollers using Scratch. She emphasised that “it is important to reflect and check for understanding after the hands-on learning with the students”
